IN a bid to revamp the state of pharmacy education, pharmacy colleges in India will now be rated and ranked by the Quality Council of India.

Regulatory body for pharma sciences, the Pharmacy Council of India has announced a partnership with the Quality Council of India (an autonomous body set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry) to develop a cutting-edge ranking system that focuses on regulatory compliance and outcomes, according to a circular on the PCI website.

In 2023, The National Medical Commission (NMC) signed an MoU with the Quality Council of India (QCI) for assessing ratings of the medical institutions.

The process of ranking and rating of pharmacy colleges for the academic year 2025-26 has already begun.
