In a bid to bring world-class education in mining and metallurgy and transform Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district into the Steel Hub of India in the next five years, Gondwana University in Maharashtra has signed a MoU with Australia’s Curtin University and Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited to offer engineering courses.

A ‘University Institute of Technology’ (UIT) will be set up in Gadchiroli. Lloyds Metals and Energy will lend their support in setting up the institute , offering internships, and creating employment opportunities for trained students.

Another Mou has been signed between Gondwana University and Curtin University in Western Australia for offering twinning programmes.

The agreements were signed in the presence of Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan, who is the chancellor of Gondwana University.
