In a bid to boost Indo-German academic and technological cooperation, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Siegen, Germany. The partnership will enhance collaborative research, academic exchange, and lead to the establishment of a Joint Centre on Sensors at IIT Bhilai.
The Joint Centre for research in sensor technologies will be set up, jointly managed and operated by leading experts from both institutes. This centre will be a state-of-the-art hub fostering innovation in fields such as healthcare, smart infrastructure, and environmental monitoring.
Prof. Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, emphasized the importance of international collaborations in empowering students and researchers with global perspectives. “This partnership will enable access to advanced infrastructure and technical expertise, nurturing a culture of innovation and excellence,” he said, according to an official release.
The collaboration is expected to generate interdisciplinary research breakthroughs and contribute significantly to global academic and industrial ecosystems.
