educationspeak is a digital news website focusing on India’s higher education and study abroad market. The website which started as a blog, set up under the banner of Directions Online in 2002, has produced hundreds of research reports and newsletters on higher education in India for clients. Past and present clients include the British Council, Australian Education International, USIEF, Singapore Tourism Board, University of Greenwich, Flame University among others. With a constantly growing audience, Educationspeak, caters to stakeholders in the higher education community in India and abroad. Our audience consists of government representatives, academics, university and HEI leaders, parents, students and agents.

Our founder-editor, Debeshi Gooptu is a business journalist turned digital content strategist and entrepreneur. With three decades of experience in media (Business Standard, Business Today, Plus Channel) and higher education (British Council, Canadian High Commission, Intel Asia Electronics), she runs an online research consultancy for overseas education organizations. Debeshi headed the Education UK East India office for British Council and managed the outreach student advisory for the Canadian Education Centre in New Delhi. She worked with the Intel’s Education initiative and QS Quacquarelli Symonds and contributed to two guidebooks on higher education published by The Times of India. Her articles regularly appear in platforms such as ShethePeople.TV and Millennium Post.
